Zaheer's Game-Changing Journey with WorkBC: A Father's Story

Father's story - bookkeeper

Struggling with unemployment since March 2023 was a heavy burden. Despite my qualifications and over 12 years of experience in finance management, job prospects seemed hard, especially as an immigrant navigating Canada's job market. But hope emerged when my landlady suggested WorkBC. I didn’t want to leave any stone unturned in my search for employment.

Determined to provide for my family, I embraced WorkBC's support. Stepping into their offices felt like a lifeline. My case manager, Kevin, became my hero, offering invaluable guidance on resumes and interviews. But WorkBC didn't stop there, with WorkBC's Job Start Support, I smoothly transitioned into my new role, landing a job as a bookkeeper on April 8, 2024.

My message to others: WorkBC is transformative. Commitment and attention to their resources make a difference. Thanks to WorkBC Centre Guildford, I'm now focused on my work and reunited with my family in Canada. I wholeheartedly recommend this program—it's organized, generous with resources, and a true game-changer for anyone facing unemployment. If you're feeling discouraged, give WorkBC a chance.
