Saaz's Journey towards Her Dream Career

I had been unemployed for quite a few months this year. I am an immigrant so I faced multiple obstacles in finding work. I did not know how to make a strong and efficient resume and cover letter according to the Canadian work environment and was not aware of the different tools that can be used for job search.

I heard about WorkBC through a close connection with one of my friends. I decided to come to WorkBC and meet an employment counsellor. She patiently listened to the problems I had been facing and understood my situation.  She suggested I attend a few workshops to create a strong resume and cover letter. She also referred me to workshops helping with job search and polishing one’s interview skills and practices.

It is because of the continuous efforts of the entire team at WorkBC that I found a way into my dream career – I started a job in school as an education assistant. Their support did not end there. Until I got my first paycheck, they also provided me with Gas Cards for commuting to my workplace.

I am highly indebted to her WorkBC for all the support the team has extended to me in finding work and leading a decent life. I strongly recommend WorkBC to everyone who is actively looking for work.
