Daycare Jobs

Before working with WorkBC, I was unemployed and searching for a job in my neighborhood close to me so that I could still take care of my kids. I graduated from Langara College with certificates in ECE. My only problem was finding a work environment that I was happy and wanted to work in. My friend found out that I was looking for a job and introduced me to WorkBC Employment Services.

My ECE license would have expired in May 2024 if I was not able to fulfill 500 hours of work experience and 40 hours of continuing education. I was ready to consider ECEA jobs too. I sought WorkBC Centre Guildford’s assistance to find a part-time job as ECE or ECEA. In January, I got a job offer but the job would have started in March 2024. It was a tight situation for me as I had to fulfill 500 hours of work experience by May.

My case manager, Ms. Jane Xu connected me with job coach Ms. Rashi Jain on Jan 24, 2024, to help me find a permanent job to start as early as possible. To my surprise, Rashi was able to connect me with an employer just the next day. Within the same week I was interviewed by the employer, and we clicked instantly. I was granted a job offer the next day.

I am working as an ECE at Little Footprints Academy in permanent full-time position.

I am extremely grateful that WorkBC Centre Guildford granted me this opportunity. Now, I am able to work full-time and raise my kids with a steady income.
