Claudio's Journey with WorkBC

Posted at:
People with Disability

I was unemployed and on disability.  It had been several years since I had a sustainable employment.

I was facing financial hardships which was a big reason for my unemployment, as I was unable to arrange for the required work gear. Addiction prevented me from finding work, along with cognitive and learning issues as well.

I was at a treatment centre and needed something to keep me busy in a purposeful manner and help me prepare for future.

I did the AMPLIFY program in the month of May in 2022 which helped me update my skills, like reading, math, and computer skills. The program helped me connect with others; I am still in contact with some of them. I enjoyed going back to the learning environment so AMPLIFY was a great experience for me. The facilitator was awesome. They explained things so well, and I understood the material. The program was multi-cultural and the facilitator was able to connect with everyone in a single setting.

Currently, I am actively looking for work along with my WorkBC Centre Guildford case manager. I intend get into peer support work.

I really appreciate the help I received from WorkBC.

WorkBC is your one-stop destination if you need help with anything for school or work.
