The Start of My Life-changing Journey!

I want to take a moment to share my journey and to thank WorkBC for the incredible support I’ve received along the way.

When I first started looking for work, I remember how difficult and discouraging it felt. No matter how hard I tried, finding the right opportunities seemed out of reach, and at times I felt stuck. Everything changed when I was referred to WorkBC. A friend of mine got helped by WorkBC as well. Now, she is working as an accountant with BC housing. They gave me the chance to go back to school, and with their close support, I was able to complete my Diploma in Medical Office Administrator / Health Unit Clerk program. Something I’m truly proud of!

I could not have done this without the amazing people who stood by me throughout this journey. My employment counsellor, always encouraged me and believed in me even when I doubted myself. He was always there with kindness and support whenever I needed guidance, and my employer liaison also played an important role in helping me along the way. Their encouragement and dedication made such a difference, and I’m deeply thankful to each of them. There is always hope if there is a program like this, one that helps and open opportunities to grow professionally and be skilled.

Thanks to WorkBC Centre Guildford, I now see a brighter future ahead of me. This diploma isn’t just a certificate it represents hope, a new beginning, and the chance for a better life. I can’t believe I just got hired with a good company in my health-field! I know this is just the start of a life-changing journey, and I am so grateful for the doors that have opened because of WorkBC’s help and the wonderful advisors who guided me.
