Ji Won's Job Search Journey with WorkBC

I had a contractual job in a family owned business and had no formal qualifications or training for the job. After the contract period got over, it was not renewed. Therefore, I became unemployed from August 31, 2022. I got in touch with WorkBC Centre Guildford in September, 2022.

I was continuously applying for various jobs but there was no response.

At WorkBC Centre Guildford, my initial counselling was very helpful in figuring out what I wanted to work on and what I needed to do at that time.  I got help to find out my personal traits and jobs that suit me.  I was empowered to start to find out training for the job I wanted. With fewer financial resources, I really needed financial support for the training and education for the job and my life.  I got all the necessary financial support from WorkBC and a Student loan as well.

Today, I have a job and my first day is on September 19, 2023.

I have earned invaluable experience to start a new chapter in my life with very sincere support from my counselor and case manager. I truly appreciate all the help and support from WorkBC Centre Guildford.

I want more job seekers who are in despair to reach out to WorkBC for its exceptional employment services.
